Hugh established the practice in 1986, having previously trained with KPMG in Belfast.

He is involved in advising clients in various sectors on commercial and taxation issues.

Hugh has been fundamental to the development of the reputation of the practice and the growth of its portfolio of clients.

As well as having extensive experience of accountancy and taxation across a number of sectors, Hugh has  developed a particular knowledge of the taxation of the construction / property and agricultural sectors.


Pauline McAleer BSSc FCA, PARTNER

Pauline joined the practice in 1988 from her position as Finance Officer with Omagh District Council.

Prior to that she trained with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Belfast.

She is responsible for the efficient organisation of internal business management in the practice and deals with staff and training-related issues.

Arnold Jackson BSc FCA CTA, PARTNER

Arnold joined the practice in 1994 after graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in Accounting from Queen’s University, Belfast.

He was awarded the Stokes Kennedy Crowley / KPMG prize for being the best graduand in the BSc Accounting Degree.

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998. On route to qualification he was placed first in Northern Ireland in the Professional III examinations.

In 1998 he also passed the Chartered Institute of Taxation examinations and was duly admitted as a member.

Arnold provides specialist tax and transactions advice, including capital gains and inheritance tax, in a wide range of assignments.

With the advantage of an agricultural background, Arnold has developed particular expertise and reputation in the renewable energy sector.


Alison Irwin BA ACA ATT – Audit Manager

Alison joined the practice in 1992 as a trainee having graduated from the University of Ulster at Jordanstown with a BA Honours Degree in Accounting.

She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996.

She also qualified as a Tax Technician with the Assocation of Tax Technicians in 2002.

Alison progressed through the firm to become an Audit Senior.

Since qualification she has specialised in the areas of audit compliance and accounts preparation and now is the firm’s Audit Manager.
Alison has responsibility for planning and organising audit work and liasing with the staff of audit clients.
